NileTrack

Terms of Service

Last updated 27 September 2026. Applies to the NileTrack GPS web dashboard at niletrackgpss.duckdns.org, the NileTrack GPS Android application (com.niletrackgps.app), and the tracking service behind them.

Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and NileTrack GPS (“we”, “us”). By signing in to or using the service you accept them. If you use NileTrack on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept them for that organisation, and “you” includes it. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

NileTrack is a fleet-tracking service. GPS tracking devices fitted to your organisation’s vehicles report location and vehicle readings to our servers, and the dashboard and Android app let authorised users view live positions, route history, reports, geofences, fuel analytics, and alerts, and send supported commands to the devices.

We may add, change, or remove features as the service develops. Where a change removes something you rely on, we will tell you in advance where we reasonably can.

Accounts

  • Accounts are created by a fleet administrator, not self-registered. The administrator decides which vehicles and features each account can access, and is responsible for the accounts they create.
  • Keep your password confidential and do not share your account. You are responsible for activity under it. Tell us or your administrator promptly if you believe it has been used without permission.
  • Keep the information on your account — name, email, phone number — accurate, so alerts and password resets reach you.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Track a vehicle or person without the authority and any consent the law requires. You are responsible for informing drivers and other vehicle users that the vehicle is tracked, where the law requires it.
  • Use the service to stalk, harass, or unlawfully monitor anyone, or for any other unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to access accounts, vehicles, or data you have not been given access to, or probe, scan, or test the security of the service without our written permission.
  • Interfere with the service — overload it, reverse-engineer it except where the law allows, or scrape it by automated means beyond the exports and reports it provides.
  • Send remote commands (such as engine immobilisation) in a way that endangers people or property, for example to a vehicle known to be moving at speed.

Tracking devices and installation

Where we supply or install tracking hardware, it is covered by the separate quotation or agreement for that installation. Accuracy of position, fuel, and other readings depends on the device, its installation, sensor calibration, GPS signal, and mobile network coverage, none of which are fully within our control. Readings are provided for fleet management and are not guaranteed to be exact.

Subscription and fees

Access is provided under the subscription agreed with your organisation. Fees, billing periods, and payment terms are those set out in your quotation or invoice. If a subscription expires or payment is overdue, we may restrict access until it is renewed; the Account screen shows the days remaining on your subscription where one is set.

Your data

Your organisation owns the vehicle and account data it puts into the service. You grant us the rights needed to store, process, and display that data to operate the service for you. How we handle personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Availability

We work to keep the service available and accurate, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. Maintenance, network outages, device faults, and third-party services (such as map and address providers) can interrupt it or delay data. NileTrack is a fleet-management aid, not an emergency or safety-critical system; do not rely on it as the only means of protecting life or property.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — including lost profits, lost revenue, loss of data, or loss arising from theft of a vehicle or its fuel — arising from use of or inability to use the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the fees your organisation paid us for the service in the three months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Suspension and termination

  • We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, puts the service or other users at risk, or is used unlawfully. Where practical we will warn you first.
  • Your administrator can remove your account at any time, and you can ask us to delete it — see Deleting your account for how.
  • Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including your data, limitation of liability, and governing law — continue to apply.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. The date at the top of the page always reflects the current version, and material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use NileTrack after an update means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. We will try to resolve any dispute informally first; if that fails, the courts of Addis Ababa have jurisdiction.
